Nanners

Nanners 2021

Jack at Augusta.
Tiger at Bay Hill.
Rafa at Roland Garros.
Moose on his couch.

Some ppl just dominate at a particular location/surface. Add EAG at NANNERS to that LIST.

Eag started his tourney off with a trip-daddy on 1. That would ruin most ppl's nanners - for Eag - "kevin", shrugs it off and goes to shoot 70 and have the only GUP of the tourney. The other big round of the day was Llama who's never seen the course before and shoots 74 to get the only NUP of the tourney. So eag lead by 4 after round 1.
Round 2 was the toughest of the days - Eag shot Level to increase his lead to a whopping 10 over Do, Eel, and Strich......So it was pretty much a coast job after that for Eag to get his 6th level and 9th MAJ.
INMATE battle was A LOT MORE EXCITING. Round 1 was the beest/wolf show. Matching 97s made it seem like a 2 horse race. But after an all-nighter and a SERIOUS VIBE on day 2, there were whispers that Hawk would be coming back to the 2 man pack. Sure enough - 98!! Which tied him with wolf after 2 rounds - with beest 3 in the clear.
Round 3 - wolf grabbed the 'lead' early but smoothed things out midway through the round. After his first fed of the tourney on 12 - he was able to put some distance between him and the black beauty.
Beest had a real nice front 9 after a towel incident on 2. (more on that later) Seemed as though he was going to coast from there but a trip daddy on 15 and trip daddy on 17 (while hawk parred both) meant we had a tie ball game going into 18. This is when my party beest turned off the music and got serious. Both hit nice drives. both hit DEESE approach shots. Hawk was in a bit tougher spot on the back fringe, while beest was front right fringe. Straight up hill putt to almost gimmie range. Hawk had a lot of break to play and it was deceptively downhill. He hit a pretty good putt, but just had a little too much mustard on it and rolled all the way down to the bottom which SEALED the DEAL.

Congrats to Mole was tossed out 3 respectable mid to high 70s to win his first NET level. Llama contended but had a bit of a rough round 2. Eag/Mole/Llama all went 3-0 in HIST as well.

Another unreal Nanners boys. 13 in the books now. Was real nice to be back in the longhouse with Spirits permission. No complaints from Auntie Marilee this year. Grandma said she didn't hear a peep. Got to love that 93 year old hearing. She's the best. Always loves to have us up.

Nanners 2020

Covid took away a lot of things this year - but it sure the hell wasn't gonna take our Nanners.

24 of the finest animals battled for the LEVEL and to avoid INMATE. Both battles came down to the wire.

LEVEL Battle - Eag went GUP GUP first 2 rounds to take a 4 shot lead on Prince. Condo/Fly/Ram lurking a little more than that. But it seemed to be pretty clear that ala Nanners 7 this was gonna be a 2 horse race. Prince started off the Final round solidly with a fed on 1 and a bogey free 35. Eag was a bit shaky on the front which included a doub on 6 - and we had ourselves a tie ball game with 9 to go. We were still tied with 4 to go and that's when Eag kicked things into a new gear - 3 feds in the last 4 holes to clinch his 5th LEVEL and record extending 8th MAJ. Great battle INDEED. In the end all 4 in the final group shot LEVEL.

INMATE Battle - After round 1 Sapalina took a comfortable 6 shot lead after his 91. But he was able to scrub the sap off his car and play some decent golf in round 2 which included a hole out FLAP on the 15th hole and get himself out of the INMATE conversation. Heading into the final round - it was Beest with a 2 shot lead on Hawk - 4 on Wolf, 5 on Moose/Jav. After nice fronts by Moose/Wolf - it looked to be a 2 horse race. Hawk still managed to stay ahead - but all changed on 12. After a bit of a flyer - hawk sailed the 12th green and hit downslope and rode the Benson Meridien all the way to the 13th tee box. Some failed chips later and Hawk had himself a trip daddy and now a 2 shot lead. After a huge Fed on 16 after hitting the pin on his chip - the GAPE was 4 and all but over. But Tom Kite did not emerge from the pond by 10 green to greet us. 2 shot swing on 17 - big drive by Hawk on 18 and Beest drive lost a little right. Chip out and nice approach by Beest - sclafy 8 iron by Hawk and it was all she wrote.

Another fantastic battle to the end.

On the Net Level side: The experience of the Grizz once again proved to be too much. Fawn/Prince/Herron all were close as well.
now for a few BEST OFS:
BEST RUN IN: Silver Fox greeting all the competitors on 3rd tee with a big cooler full of Cold Bronnies.

ANGRIEST HOUGH FAMILY MEMBER: Auntie Marilee as a result of that walk.
BEST FIST PUMP: Spirit Bear to Wolf when he found out Marilee didn't see us on said walk.
BEST WEEKEND AT BERNIES MOMENT: Condo with shades on at dinner table - Night 2.
BEST DJ : Prince
BEST DJ BOOTH: Flatbed of Abandoned Farm Truck.
MOST ENERGY: Hawk.
SONG OF NANNERS: "You little Beauty"
BEST NEW CONNECTION: Grizz and Peck - Bourbon Brothers.
BEST PURCHASE: Mole/Eag/Beest/Hawk - Wheatsheaff LuckDog shirts on Night 3.
BEST QUESTION: Fawn - "BEEST, what animal are you?"
BEST GOLF OUTFIT: Mole on hole 15 round 2. Ripped Jean Shorts and no tarp.
WORST WEATHER FOR A NANNERS: This one.
Those are just a few that came to mind. Feel free to add your own.
